Product Overview and Characteristics

Riboflavin, also known as vitamin B2, is a vitamin found in food and sold as a dietary supplement. It is essential to the formation of two major coenzymes, flavin mononucleotide and flavin adenine dinucleotide. These coenzymes are involved in energy metabolism, cellular respiration, and antibody production, as well as normal growth and development. The coenzymes are also required for the metabolism of niacin, vitamin B6, and folate. Riboflavin is used to treat corneal thinning, and oral administration can reduce the incidence of migraine in adults.

Energy metabolism promotion

As an active component of flavin adenine dinucleotide and flavin mononucleotide, it participates in redox reactions in the body and promotes the release and utilization of energy from carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins.

Skin and mucosal health

Maintains the health of the skin, oral mucosa, and ocular tissues, and prevents and improves symptoms of vitamin B2 deficiency such as angular cheilitis, glossitis, cheilitis, and seborrheic dermatitis.

Antioxidant support

Participates in the activation of glutathione reductase, assists in scavenging free radicals, reduces oxidative stress, and protects cells and tissues from oxidative damage.

Food and feed addition

Widely used in food nutritional fortification, infant formula, sports nutrition foods, and feed additives, it serves as a generally recognized safe nutritional fortifier to meet the vitamin B2 needs of various populations and livestock and poultry.
